Beyonce and Shatta Wale, some months ago did a collaboration to produce and album titled Already that became the talk of the town. However, there was a downside to their album as said by Gyedu Blay Ambolley.
The album was a hit and it had an astonishing number of views within a short period of time. Rumors however paraded the streets saying Beyonce never came to Ghana. This was heralded by Bulldog. Efia Odo was able to fire back with a clip showing she really came.
Gyedu Blay Ambolley who is also another legendary Ghanaian highlife musician gave his thoughts about their performance not quite long ago. He decided to go live on Joy news to air out his views on their album.
Gyedu Blay is a musician who has really revolved the field of music and has even created his own genre of music. Very few have accomplished such a great.
Today, Gyedu Blay Ambolley said that “Though Shatta Wale’s music with Beyonce promotes Ghana on the map but it fails to promote Ghana identity”. He claimed in summary that it was a good step taken by Shatta Wale but it was a failure in the aspect of Ghana Identity.
Some if you will agree to that because it is true. The album majorly reflected foreign cultures rather than Ghanaian Culture.
